Intensive Management of Personality Disorders Assessment and Recovery Team.
A Specialist Psychological Service for People with a Personality Disorder and those with comormid substance misuse.
The IMPART team is a small therapeutic mental health team who provide a high quality, flexible and innovative service for people with a Personality Disorder and/or comorbid substance use. (All members of the team have received specialist training in working with people with a Personality Disorder and substance misuse).
We hold the belief that people are doing the best that they can at the time, but have the ability to change the ways in which they manage their lives. We understand that motivation to change can vary, and we will work alongside people to address their concerns. We will work in partnership with people and their support networks to help them continue to work toward a life worth living.
The problems for people with a Personality Disorder often arise from the environment and experiences during childhood, and substance use can be a means of managing the symptoms or difficulties that are faced. We recognise that in order to assist people with complex lives we need to be responsive, flexible and non-judgmental.
We accept people to IMPART who are ages 18 years or older who meet the criteria of Personality Disorder, misuse substances, have chaotic lifestyles and who also live in Borough of Waltham Forest.
